IPIA 2024 Year in Review
IPIA Fast Facts Over the Past Year
It’s been a busy year at the IPIA supporting the pole industry in different ways — check out some of our progress!
- Officially merged with PoleCon. Read more about that here.
- Created a Jobs Board for Pole Businesses! Check it out here.
- Conducted and implemented recommendations from 2 Accessibility Audits to Improve the IPIA website with Disabled Pole Dancers including a Website Accessibility Audit and on our swer content.
- Started an information sharing relationship with American Youth Circus Organization/American Circus Educators.
- Became an Official SkillBridge Partner organization for military members to gain civilian work experience before leaving active duty.
- Hired 2 new contractors to help with marketing and research/writing.
- 185 Current Members from all around the world!
- Added 3 New Partners, Tits N’ Taxes, Bookee, and Rarr. Current partner NSAM/AFAA increased their discount to IPIA members from 35% to 40%.
- Hosted 12 Webinars covering topics like: cyber security, neurodivergence, swer allyship, taxes, starting a career in fitness, teaching kids, teaching seniors, and more!
- Held the 5th Annual Virtual PoleCon with panelists and attendees from all over the world.
- Published 52 business-related resources! (many FREE)
- Conducted the 2nd Pole Industry Financial Survey. Click here for more information the pole industry survey including comparisons to the 2022 data.
The IPIA was created in 2020 to provide:
- Access to educational resources to start or improve your existing business.
- Access to networking and collaboration opportunities including live and virtual events and networking opportunities for members to share and grow together.
- Supporting advocacy to positively impact the industry as a lobbying or advocacy body to support legislation or changing/influencing public opinion on topics relevant to the industry. A trade association also can support relevant research to positively impact the industry.
- Organize discounts on relevant educational resources and business critical services and products.
IPIA Challenges in the Past Year:
- Reaching people outside of social media.
- Gatekeeping/shadow ban issues on social media.
- Understanding how best to help the industry within the scope of a trade association.
What’s Next for the IPIA in 2025:
- NEW Need-Based Grant Program at PoleCon for swers, BIPOC persons, and persons with disabilities. Info coming in early 2025.
- Continue conducting webinars, about 1 a month.
- Conducting more surveys to learn more about our industry.
